Christian Counseling for Adults
You’ve prayed. You’ve tried. Something’s still missing.
Christian therapy using EMDR and CBT for Individuals, Couples and Families Seeking Emotional and Spiritual Healing.
Discover the Path to Peace and Emotional Freedom
Why Hasn’t Prayer Alone Brought Healing?
You pray faithfully.
You do your best to walk in Christ.
And yet, you’re still struggling. The anxiety, shame, and loneliness are dragging you down.
You can’t shake the question:
Does God see what’s actually going on inside me?
You’ve Brought This to the Lord. It still troubles your heart.
You know what the Word says.
You’ve asked for peace. You’ve reflected. You’ve forgiven. Or tried to.
Your mind still rehearses old wounds at 2 a.m.
Your anger flares before you can stop it.
Your marriage feels like two people being faithful to something that’s mostly withered.
Your faith isn’t failing you. Something deeper is holding the old pain in place.
Healing that Aligns with Psychological Truth and Spiritual Conviction
When most Christians seek therapy, they aren’t simply looking for symptom relief. What they really want is support that adds the best psychological tools on top of their spiritual foundation.
I integrate the time-tested, cutting- edge trauma therapy Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) alongside Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) while incorporating Christian morals and values. This creates a uniquely effective and deeply meaningful therapeutic approach for people of faith.
CBT helps identify the distorted thought patterns that contribute to fear, shame, hopelessness, anger, and emotional suffering. It teaches you to recognize and challenge unhealthy thoughts and then replace them with thoughts grounded in truth and reality.
EMDR complements this work by addressing the deeper emotional wounds and traumatic experiences that logic alone often cannot resolve.
How Your Life Will Change for the Better
Faith is not a separate compartment of your life. It is the foundation – of your identity, worldview, relationships, and meaning.
Together, EMDR, CBT, and integrating your Christian worldview provides a comprehensive model that allows you to:
- Identify the thought patterns feeding shame, fear, and emotional exhaustion
- Process unresolved memories so they lose their grip on the present
- Replace distorted beliefs with ones rooted in who God says you are
- Rebuild emotional regulation so you respond rather than react
- Reconnect with your loved ones and your own sense of purpose
- Develop boundaries, confidence, and spiritual depth that hold in daily life
The Four Phases of My Approach
01 — Free Initial Consultation
We meet and discuss what’s happening for you right now. I share how I can help. You get your questions answered. If we both agree, we move forward.
You confirm that this is the right place for your healing.
02 — Understanding and Building Safety
We will establish specific measurable and attainable goals to collaborate and work on together. We can bring Christ into our sessions with prayer and or incorporating
Christ into the therapeutic methods.
03 — Processing and Healing Painful Experiences
This is the deeper healing work. CBT reshapes distorted beliefs; EMDR reprocesses emotional wounds.
You release emotions, reduce triggers, and increase insight.
04 — Growth, Integration, Living Differently
We strengthen new ways of thinking, improve your relationships, and build long-term habits that support your whole mental, emotional, relational, and spiritual health.
You feel free, connected, and capable of living the life you truly want.
Why Trust Me as Your Partner in Healing
Faith Anchors the Work
Your values, beliefs, and sense of identity in Christ are not a side note. They’re the foundation every session builds on.
A Pace That Honors Your Nervous System
Nothing moves faster than you’re ready for. Safety comes first, every session, because healing that rushes past your capacity doesn’t stick.
Outcomes You Can Feel, Not Just Describe
The goal isn’t symptom management. It’s the emotional freedom to live the life you believe God designed for you.
Jeremiah 29:11…for I know the plans I have for you says the Lord. Plans to prosper you and give you peace.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this the right kind of therapy if I've tried counseling before?
Many people who’ve had prior counseling find that EMDR adds an important dimension that talk therapy never reached. If past work gave you insight but didn’t change the emotional charge, my approach addresses the layer insight alone can’t reach.
How long until I start noticing something different?
Most people begin noticing shifts in how they respond after a few sessions: less reactivity, more emotional room. Deeper healing of unresolved trauma takes longer, but you’ll see steady improvement if you consistently bring what therapy is showing you into your daily life.
Do I have to talk through every painful memory in detail?
No. EMDR is specifically designed so you don’t have to verbally narrate the most painful details to process them. The work happens in the brain’s own reprocessing, not in a detailed retelling.
CBT works with the thoughts you’re actively thinking. We will start wherever feels safe and move from there.
Is this therapy for serious trauma, or also for everyday struggles like anxiety and marriage stress?
Both. EMDR and CBT are effective for unresolved trauma and for the ongoing stress, anxiety, shame, and relational patterns that don’t require a dramatic backstory to be genuinely painful.
What does "Christian integration" mean in practice?
It means your faith shapes the lens, not just the décor. We draw on Scripture, prayer, forgiveness, and identity in Christ as active tools in the work — not as add-ons, but as the ground you’re healing on.
